제15회 부산국제비디오아트페스티발을 11월 6일부터 11월 21일까지 개최합니다.
부산국제비디오아트페스티발은 작품 공모를 통해 실험적이고 동시대 문제들을 다루는 영상작업을 소개하는데에 목적이 있습니다. 올해는 공모를 통해 국내외에서 290여 편의 작품이 수집되었고 수상작 1편과 경쟁작 5편을 선정하여 상영하며, 특히 공모 출품작 중세계 곳곳에서 일어난 시위의 모습들, 정치적 상황을 포착한 작품들을 모아 특별전 <동시대:세계>를 기획하였습니다.
또한 초청 특별전<동시대:한국>에서는 홍진훤 작가의 <melting icecream>을 소개합니다. <melting icecream>은 민주화운동 당시 촬영된 필름을 복원하는 과정을 따라가며 한국의 민주화운동과 이후 비정규직 운동의 충돌을 다루고 있습니다.
더불어 지역에서 활동하고 있는 큐레이터와 협력하여 구성한 기획전은 침묵의 폭력성에 대해 다루는 한수정 큐레이터의 <무향실(無響室)>과 난민, 경계, 개발 원조, 아주 먼 과거의 식민지에 대해 관찰하는 작업을 통해 도시의 가장자리를 맴도는 이들의 이야기에 주목한 강주영 큐레이터의 <가장 바깥의 원>도 함께 선보입니다.

15th Busan International Video Art Festival will start soon, from 6 to 21 November.
The Busan International Video Art Festival aims to introduce experimental video artworks and artworks that deal with contemporary issues through open submission. This year, 290 works were submitted, and six films were selected. Prize-winner is <What Travelers Are Saying About Jornada del Muerto> by Hope Tucker, and we present five competitive works by KANG Yesol, Clare Chun-yu Liu, Ezra Wube, Ian Haig, and Miguel Rozas. There were also a lot of works recording the political situation and protests from all over the world. Therefore, we organized a special exhibition 《Contemporary:World》 among the works not included in the selection.
The invited special exhibition 《Contemporary:Korea》 presents <melting icecream> by Jinhwon Hong. <melting icecream> follows the process of restoring films shot during the democratic movement and focuses on the conflict in Korea between the democratic movement and the struggle of non-regular workers afterward.
This year, we present the curated exhibitions collaborated with local curators. Sujeong Han presents 《Dead Room》, an exhibition about the violence of silence, and Joo-Young Kang presents 《Edge of the concentric circles》, which focuses on the stories of those who circle the edge of this world.
