2025년을 여는 시네마테크KOFA의 첫 기획전 <틈: Film in the Gap>은 세계의 틈새를 예리하게 포착한 영화들에 주목한다.
열네 편의 상영작들은 모두 작품 안에서 직간접적으로 '틈'에 대하여 이야기한다. 이들 영화 속에서 다루는 틈은 눈에 띄지 않았던 오래된 균열이기도, 사람과 사람 사이의 벌어진 거리이기도, 과거로부터 벗어날 수 있는 기회이기도 하다. 빠르게 사이를 메우기 급급한 작금의 콘텐츠 무더기에서 좀체 경험하기 어려운 여백을 본연의 리듬으로 이끌어가는 각 작품의 영화적 시도들은 신선한 시간의 흐름을 체험하게 할 것이다.
이번 상영작들은 영화제와 전시 등을 통해 2024년 공개되었으나 아직 극장에는 정식 개봉하지 않은 틈 사이의 작품들이기도 하다. 꾸준히 작품을 만들어가는 제도권 바깥의 창작자들을 응원하며, <틈: Film in the Gap>의 상영작들이 한국영화의 새로운 시선을 발견할 기회와 틈을 제공할 수 있기를 바란다.

"Film in the Gap", Cinematheque KOFA's inaugural screening event for 2025, focuses on films that keenly capture the gaps in the world.
The fourteen screenings all talk about 'gaps' directly or indirectly in their works. These gaps can be old cracks that have gone unnoticed, distances between people, or opportunities to escape from the past. The cinematic attempts of each film to bring the gaps into their own rhythm, which is difficult to experience in the pile of recent content that is urgent to fill the gaps quickly, will make you experience a fresh passage of time.
These films have been released in 2024 through film festivals and exhibitions, but have not yet been released in theaters. We would like to support the creators outside the system who continue to create works, and hope that "Film in the Gap" will provide an opportunity to discover new perspectives of Korean cinema.
